(Photo by Patipat Janthong)Most people are paying up to 100 baht more a week on rising bus fares and call on bus drivers and attendants to be more polite, says Nida Poll. The National Institute of Development Administration (Nida) conducted its opinion survey via phone on 1,258 bus passengers in greater Bangkok from April 29 to May 2. It found that 87.20% of respondents had to pay up to 100 baht more per week on bus fares, 10.97% were paying 101-200 baht more, 1.59% 201-300 baht more and 0.24% more than 300 baht. Over 50% of the respondents said bus operators should improve conditions and the behaviour of their bus drivers and fare collectors.
